Tremendous Trailer Trash Tuesday Trailers June 25th 2013

Anchorman: The Legend Continues:    The crew from the 70′s is back and working at a 24 hour news station in the 80′s If you liked the first film you know what your getting into with this sequel.  Now which one of you convicts with the longest record wants to pass me the mashed potatoes?  Just in time for Christmas Anchorman:  The Legend Continues arrives at a theater near you on December 20th.

Drinking Buddies: Olivia Wilde, Anna Kendrick, Jake Johnson and Ron Livingston star in the summer romantic comedy.  Two good friends who work at  a craft brewery have feelings for each other but are already in relationships with other people.  Since this stars Olivia Wilde and Anna Kendrick and is set at a brewery I am instantly intrigued despite the fact that this is a rom com.  Pounding some brews at a theater near you on July 25th.

Jobs: Ashton Kutcher, Josh Gad  and J.K. Simmons star in this biopic about the life of Apple Computer founder Steve Jobs.  The film follows Jobs as a barefoot drug taking college dropout through the start of Apple and the ups and downs the company.  Sadly we all know how this film is going to end but I am unsure from the trailer if they follow his life story to the end.   Two things I must admit, First I am typing this on a Mac Mini, I use both my iPhone and iPad on a daily basis , secondly, I hope we get to see Kutcher run in this film and wave his T-Rex arms like in The Butterfly Effect.  Will this films release coincide with the release of some new Apple products on August 16th?

Lego Movie:  A normal lego minifigure is mistaken for a master builder and has to save the Lego Universe from some evil corporate type that wants to glue all the Lego together.  Pretty sure that any Lego obsessed children or adults for that matter are not very concerned about the plot of this film.  Look for lots of Lego blocks in this film when it opens on February 2014.

So those are your trailers for this week.  Out of the four trailers are am most interested in checking out Anchorman: The Legend Continues.  However, that Jobs trailer actually looks better than I anticipated.  Which of these trailers, if any, have you interested in checking out the film?

  • Fogs' Movie Reviews June 25, 2013, 10:27 am

I actually like the Lego movie trailer, it makes me chuckle. Meanwhile though, the Anchorman 2 trailer gives me just enough hope, and leaves me just skeptical enough at the same time. Not a fan of adding Kristen Wiig just to be a female Brick. I guess, I don’t know. Whatever [shrugs]

Fogs, I would agree that the trailer is not hilarious for Anchorman. I would almost prefer that they refrain from showing us all the jokes via a series of trailers for the film.

Gotta say, I was laughably unimpressed by the Jobs trailer. Maybe it’ll prove me wrong, but…

    • Adam June 25, 2013, 7:05 pm

Alex, Kutcher is no thespian so I was actually surprised by that trailer. Not that I think it is going to be good, just perhaps not as awful as I originally anticipated.

Anchorman 2 – Though I’m not a big fan of his, I actually think Anchorman is Ferrell’s funniest movie. Wasn’t really impressed with the trailer until it got to the end when he was having dinner with the black people, and I cracked up. Very Michael Scott. I think the whole satirical slant on race relations is what’s going to be the saving grace of the movie.

Drinking Buddies – I love me some Jake Johnson (really trying to “run into him” while he’s in Atlanta filming) and Ron Livingston and I hear that this movie was a hit at SxSW so I will definitely go see it. Not too impressed with the trailer but I’m hopeful.

Jobs – yawn. Ashton Kutcher sounds like Ashton Kutcher so I’m not buying what they are selling

    Lego Movie – no comment

Shala, I was thinking Jobs film with Kutcher was gonna be even worse than that trailer ;-)

      • Shala July 2, 2013, 2:51 pm

..and I would say that I’m sure you’re right :)

  • Sir Phobos June 25, 2013, 7:40 pm

Not going to lie: that Anchorman trailer has me all kinds of stoked.

I didn’t watch the Jobs trailer, and I just don’t care. Either about Apple or that movie.

I was just going to skip over Drinking Buddies, but I felt bad and went back to watch the trailer. That surprised me, I think it looks pretty damn good.

Wait you still use a PC?

Drinking Buddies has two of my favorite things going for it hot chicks and beer could be another smart rom com combination.

I will be watching Anchorman 2 for sure.

      • Sir Phobos June 26, 2013, 2:14 pm

lol, yep, along with every other person and company I’ve ever come across.

Yes. Beer and Olivia Wilde. Good times.

        • Adam June 26, 2013, 2:16 pm

Come to the Mac Dark Side.

Only if it gives me the power to force choke people.

          • Adam June 26, 2013, 2:37 pm

There’s an App for that ;-)

  • Kim @ Tranquil Dreams June 25, 2013, 9:46 pm

Meh! Anchorman is not my type of humor.

Drinking Buddies is cool just because there’s Jake Johnson and I’m into him because of New Girl :) Looks interesting enough. Its a rom com. I never expect too much from these.
The Lego Movie looks really impressive!
I’m not totally sure that I’d see either of those in theatres but I’ll definitely want to see them eventually :)

    • Adam June 26, 2013, 9:59 am

Kim, I hear a few people talking about that Jake Johnson guy but I really don’t know who he is, probably because I have not seen that show.

I know that my boy is gonna try and drag me to that Lego film so I might as well get used to the idea.

  • Joe June 26, 2013, 4:48 pm

Looking forward to seeing Anchorman and Jobs looks like it could be decent but Kutcher makes it difficult for me to take seriously. PLEASE, NO MORE KUTCHER! Have a nice day:)

  • ckckred June 27, 2013, 5:34 am

The Lego Movie trailer made me laugh a bit. I’m still unconvinced about Jobs.

  • Lynn June 27, 2013, 1:50 pm

Anchorman 2 is an inevitability for me. Even though like Shala I only laughed at the end. Here’s hoping they’re saving the best bits for the actual movie.
I too am a fan of Jake Johnson even though I still haven’t really gotten into New Girl I really liked him in Safety Not Guaranteed and quite simply Ron Livingston will always have a pass for Office Space.
I like you Adam use Apple products. Well just my Mac really as I’ve never been wholly convinced by the Apple brand outside of their Macs. Also I was freaked out by the earnest way the Apple peeps in the store are trained to serve customers, describing the products as sentient beings that the customer is about to embark on a long and fulfilling relationship with, ending with “Welcome to the light side”. Also the Kutch looks like he’s being…The Kutch. But bless him he tries.

  • Chris July 8, 2013, 10:38 am

Saw the Lego trailer at the theaters and it looks alright. Hoping Anchorman is epic though, if it’s half as good as the first I’ll be pleased.
