in Tremendous Trailer Trash Tuesday

Going with a few lesser know film trailers this week.

Aftershock, is a horror disaster film written by and directed by Eil Roth.  The film is set in Chile and has a Chilean director Nicolas Lopez.  In the film a group of tourists try to survive the aftermath of an earthquake.  Look for Aftershock to rumble into  a theater near you sometime in 2013.

Pain and Gain,  saw this trailer at the theater prior to Django and it had me cracking up.  Yes I know it’s directed by Michael Bay so please forgive me.  Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson star as meat headed body builders whose kidnapping scheme goes horribly wrong.  This is just the sort of role I like to see Wahlberg in, he plays a great lovable moron.  Get your pump on when Pain and Gain opens on April 26th.

Kon Tiki, A film based on the true story of Thor Heyerdal’s journey across the pacific in an attempt to prove his theory that South Americans could have settled the polynesian islands.  Of course he makes this journey on a balsa wood raft and look sharks try to eat them.  This looks like an epic norwegian adventure film and sadly I have no idea of any release date in the U.S..

The Canyons, starring Mark’s girl Lindsay Lohan,  James Deen and Gus Van Sant has been generating a lot of hate.  The film written by Brett Easton Ellis, is a story of excess set in Hollywood. Expect to see some boobs and nose candy when this films makes it’s triumphant debut at a theater near you in 2013.

So those are the trailer selections for this week.  Other than the Canyons, which is obviously everyones favorite, which of these trailers looks the most promising to you?  I am pretty excited by the look of that Kon Tiki film.

Kon Tiki, huh? I could see that becoming a film. Probably wont do the story justice, but… we can always hope, right?

LOL at Lindsay Lohan doing a Brett Easton Ellis movie. That’s awesome. Thats a match made in heaven if you ask me. :D

Fogs they have some other noir ish type trailers for the Canyons that are pretty cool. I had assumed Brett Easton Ellis had OD’d on coke and Lacoste sweaters in the early 90′s

Fogs I think that Kon Tiki might already be out in the Nordic countries I wonder if Joel has seen it.

Pain and Gain looks like the kind of story I’d enjoy.

Gary Pain and Gain might actually be worth some chuckles, and with Michael Bay you can bet they will more than a few things blowing up.
