Hey guess what, when I moved my workspace into my bedroom, it turns out that my wireless would not work with my Mac Mini. After picking up an Airport Express and having my brother tinker around a bit, I am now back up and running. Sorry for any delay in getting out stuff last week. Strangely, it is hard to blog without a reliable internet connection. Who would of thought that would be the case? Now on to trailer news. Once again its Comicon time right down the road in San Diego. What does that mean? Well it means movie news and new trailers and also of course that once again despite being an hour away we did not attend. Can you guess why we did we not attend? No its not because San Diego is German for Whales Vagina.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Just a teaser for this film. Mostly we get to check out Jamie Foxx as Electro and we don’t see any Andrew Garfield or Emma Stone in this clip. Some cool news about this film is that Paul Giamatti is going to play the Rhino. Also as most folks have heard by now Shailene Woodley was given the boot and will not be in this film as Mary Jane Watson despite filming some scenes. Did she hog all the sushi at craft services or something? In more important Spidey news I am totally bummed they did not go with the classic Electro costume. This is sort of the same gripe I have with the Avengers films not going with the classic Hawkeye get up. Yeah I know this Electro is from alternate universe time line world or some such nonsense, blah blah blah. I have a long time to complain about wardrobe choices in regards to this film as we don’t get to check it out until May 2014.
Veronica Mars: Ok this one has a lot of blah blah blah before you get to see the actual trailer. Mostly about how the creators are trying to ruin kickstarter for the folks that actually need money to work on projects that lack funding. Anyhow this film stars Kristen Bell and I guess it was a tv show at some point that I did not watch ever. I am guessing this show was popular as they seemed to have a lot of folks giving them money to make a film. Maybe I can see what all the fuss is about when this opens sometime in 2014.
The Hunger Games, Catching Fire: So this time around all the tributes are going to be former winners of previous hunger games. I was not a huge fan of the first installment. I found it sort of lame in a lets make sure this a PG-13 film. The death scenes sort of reminded me of an episode of the A-team. Sort of hope that this second installment is a bit more realistic and bloody. However, it probably does not matter as this film has an enormous built in fan base of folks that read the books. Everyone prepare for more baby girls being named Katpiss after this film gets a general release this November. Yeah I know its Katniss.
The Wolverine: Hugh Jackman is back from the gym and he looks huge and he is also playing Wolverine. This trailer looks action packed and full of ninja and katanas. Also one ninja is a hot chick with pink hair who seems like she into adamantium dudes. I thought the first wolverine film was a bit lame but maybe this one will be an improvement. Look for wolverine to smoke a cigar and gripe about powers he doesn’t want at a theater near you this Friday.
Lots of other awesome sneak peeks at films including Captain America Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Godzilla, Thor 2 and a bunch of other stuff. However, those damn suits in legal won’t let us show any of those. Just another reason to not trust anyone wearing a tie on a regular basis. So did anyone watch that Veronica Mars tv show? Is it any good? Are you going to watch The Wolverine this weekend? What do you think the real deal is about no Mary Jane in Spider-Man 2?
That is what Electro is supposed to look like in any universe that matters. Not that I care that they changed his race, he could be an albino hermaphrodite for all I care. I am more concerned about Marvel not using classic costumes in these films.
