Going to get all arty and abstract on you buttocks this week.
Big Sur, starring Jean-Marc Barr and Kate Bosworth is an adaptation of one of my favorite Kerouac novels. After hitting it big with the publication of On The Road Kerouac heads to an isolated cabin in Big Sur to battle his demons. This film is screening at Sundance this year and is set for a full release later in the year. If anyone feels like sponsoring my trip to Sundance I will be more than happy to create a complete review.
Mud, Starring Matthew McConaughey and Resse Witherspoon is director Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter) latest film. Two young boys discover a man hiding on an island to avoid bounty hunters. The boys decide to help him avoid capture and reunite with him with his true love. I was a big fan of Nichols last film and am looking forward to checking out this one. So if anyone has extra room on their private jet I would love to tag along to the films opening April 17th in France.
To the wonder, starring Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams and Javier Bardem is the newest film from director Terrence Malick. As with any Malick film its going to be arty and half the people are going to complain that its self indulgent drivel. The other half of the people will claim its a work of genius. Make up your mind for yourself on April 12th 2013.
So which of these three films are you eager to plop down some greenbacks to watch? I Imagine I will be checking out all three of these.

I’m really looking forward to seeing To The Wonder and Mud.
So is your no to Big Sur because of Kristen Stewart’s performance in On the Road?
So much screams “Stay Away” when it comes to “To the Wonder.”
Terrence Malick did not impress me at all with Tree of Life and I am super hesitant about that one, even if I happen to like the cast, I may watch this one when I have the ability to press the FFWD button.
Yeah Tree of Life was something, I’m still not sure what I watched. Streaming could be the way to go with To the Wonder.
Looking forward to seeing Big Sur. It will be interesting to see how it translates to the big screen. Hopefully they don’t f it up because it does not seem like a book that easily translates into a movie. I just found out that On The Road was made into a movie. Have you seen it yet and if you have is it worth checking out?
Joe I have not seen that yet. I heard it was sort of middle of the road
I still plan on checking it out when it hits streaming or red box.
