in Tremendous Trailer Trash Tuesday

Who says it never rains in Southern California?  Looks like another day of staying inside and trying to tire out my boy playing kinect and hopefully watching a movie when he gets worn down a bit.  I’m going with a more traditional trailer feature this week.  However, I do like the recent trend of mixing up the trailer feature a bit and will continue to do that in the future.  Now on to the trailers:

Fast & Furious 6:  I have to admit that I have not seen the previous 5 installments of this film.  Well 6 if you count the 1939 Busby Berkeley directed original about a husband and wife detective team that also sell used books.  Anyhow it looks like a lot of the cast from previous films are involved including Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson.  However I am a bit disappointed that I did not see Dwayne Johnson singing or playing his ukulele in this clip.  ”We talking vehicular warfare”, when this film open on May 24th.

The Internship:  Yeah I know Wilson and Vaughn have not exactly been crushing it lately with their film choices.  Well maybe except for Wilson in Midnight in Paris.  But I digress, this film reunites the two stars that had me rolling in the aisles watching Wedding Crashers.  This new film has the two playing forty somethings who are applying for an internship at Google.  Maybe if they get hired they can fix the horror that is currently Google image search.  I also enjoy that Aasif Mandvi cat on The Daily Show so theres that.  You sort of know what brand of comedy this is going to be and if you are going to enjoy prior to walking into the theater on June 7th.  My early call is summer comedy blockbuster.

Monsters University:  This is an extended preview and contains SPOILERS so don’t watch the clip if you want to be all surprised and what not.  For some reason the original is not in heavy rotation among the animated films that Jr. watches on the regular.  However, this film looks to be a great film to take the kids to this summer in a season that is usually filled with explosions and gunplay.  Besides it’s a Pixar film so we can expect some high quality animation and a story that appeals to young and old.  Look for Mike and Sully at a campus near you on June 21st.

Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey:  This is a cool looking documentary film about the band Journey.  Back when I was in middle school Journey seemed like the biggest band in the world and somewhere along the line people in the band started going their separate ways and changing lead singers like I change my socks. Eventually, the band discovered a Arnel Pineda by searching for Journey covers on YouTube.  This documentary, details a year in his life with the band.  If you are living in Japan you can check out this film when it opens on March 13th.

Well that’s all folks.

I remember you telling me you hadnt seen any of these films a couple weeks back when I posted about The Fast and the Furious. I reiterate… you gotta get on that!! :D

Not too high on the internship trailer, but I’m rooting for that duo to return to the level of Wedding Crashers. One can always hope, right?

And Journey was pretty big back in the day, weren’t they? LOL :D

Fogs, when I was looking on Wiki it claimed that Keep on Believing was the #1 downloaded single on itunes of all time. I think they have the Sopranos to thank for that.

I might watch that 1939 Fast and Furious film ;-)

What to say about the Fast & Furious franchise…hmm…it’s definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. There’s so many of them now that…what’s the right way to use that one saying? It’s become a parody of itself? Hahaha. After whatever number the Tokyo Drift one was (I think that might have been the third or fourth one), I stopped taking the story all that seriously. Now each new installment seems like it’s just trying to outdo the last one in terms of stunts, and the storyline has definitely gotten more and more outrageous with each sequel. It’s also gone through what I like to call the “Pokemon effect.” In other words, I have no doubt in my mind they’re just going to keep on making them until they don’t make money anymore.

As for Monster’s University…DEFINITELY looking forward to that one. This might be the only time I think the sequel looks more promising than the original. The original Monsters Inc. was okay, but not one of my favorite Pixar films. I have a feeling this one will be a lot better and hope it lives up to my expectations!

The Internship does not look very promising.

I thought it was a pretty funny movie, but I didn’t like the trailer of The Internship. Hopefully it’s better than it looks.
