Was messing around on Reddit the other night and came across this great Man of Steel trailer that these guys had put together using Lego bricks. As you may have heard my boy’s room looks more like a Lego storage center and I often create Lego projects with him. However, I am a rank amateur compared to these guys and their wonderful Lego builds and trailers. Watching this video inspired me to come up with an all Lego film trailer post for this week.
Man of Steel: While historically I have not been a huge Superman fan I am excited about checking out this film. Besides it is directed by Zach Snyder of 300 fame so it’s got that going for it as well. I will be heading to the theater faster than a speeding bullet when this film is released on June 14th.
Iron Man 3: The quality of this Lego trailer is not quite the same as the Man of Steel trailer. However, it is still very impressive and much better than I could whip up. Refreshing that they decided to release this film a bit early during the blockbuster season. I know we will be reviewing this film shortly after it’s May 3rd release.
Star Trek Into Darkness: well back to the more professional looking Lego trailers. I enjoyed the first film in the Star Trek reboot, lens flares and all. While it lacked some of the more cerebal elements of the series it was still a fun watch. This is sure to be one of the bigger releases this year as Abrams taps into the legions of existing Trek fans and continues to introduce a new generation of fans to Star Trek. Star Trek into Darkness beams into a theater near you on May 13th.
Jaws: I know this is not a new film but who doesn’t love Jaws? I end up watching this at least once or twice every summer. I know I have probably mentioned this previously, but my folks took my brother and I to watch Jaws at the drive in theater when we were about 5 and 6 years-old. Thanks for that mom and dad, good times. Strange that neither my brother or I became big ocean swimmers.
Well that is it for this all Lego edition of trailer trash Tuesday. So which of these Lego trailers looks the best to you? Have you ever attempted or thought about making a film using Lego?
