5 new releases to discuss this week

First up we have

Magic Mike

A movie about male strippers, I am open-minded as can be when it comes to viewing films but I do not think this will have much to offer me.

Next up we have

Savages

We here at 3guys did a full review of this film and we all found it somewhat entertaining but we also had plenty of criticism, you can check out our review @http://3guys1movie.com/?p=5750

then we have

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

This film seems like a decent dramedy with some decent actors and actresses.  My wife wants to see it, therefore I will probably see this one.

next up is

Take this Waltz

Starring Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman this film seems pretty funny and is getting decent scores on the other reveiw sites.  I have heard very little about the film which is strange considering the star power.

and finally we have

The Invisible War

This documentary is 100% fresh on rotten and looks like an amazing documentary covering the epidemic of rape in our military.  Written and directed by Kirby Dick who has done Twist of Faith, Sick: The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist, and This Film is not Yet Rated.  All of these documentaries are highly rated.  If your into documentaries this film seems like a must see.

That’s it that’s all

“Seeking a friend…” is actually quite good, not perfect but very charming. Magic Mike is worth seeing if only for McConaughey’s performance which is great.

My wife will appreciate that in her quest to get me to watch it with her. Thanks for the input.

If you haven’t seen This Film Is Not Yet Rated, it’s an awesome, entertaining-yet-educational flick about the politics and secrecy of how and who decides what movies get stricken with the fatal NC-17. Great stuff.

Also, I second Sati’s comment on Seeking A Friend.

Two nods for Seeking…This week seems like a good one then, so many movies so little time. Thanks for the comment. So many movie makers try to avoid the R rating and can only imagine how many do not want the NC 17, no kids sneaking into those.
