in New on DVD

6 new releases to discuss this week in our New on DVD segment, there are 2 we have done full reviews on, 1 that I wanted to see, and 3 I know very little about.

First up we have Pixar’s

Brave

I was not a big fan of this one, although it had some clean graphics.  You can check out our full review @ http://3guys1movie.com/?p=4937  Brave was not a Pixar classic in my opinion.

Next up we have

The Watch

This comedy starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill looked pretty funny from the trailers but I did not get out to this in the theater, I am looking forward to watching this when it becomes available on 1 of my 30 movie channels or Netflix Streaming but I am not running to the store to buy it.

and then we have

Savages

Here are a few quotes from our full review so you can get a feel of how we felt about this film.  “I don’t know how they managed to make the sex scenes in this film so lame.” (Adam)  “I was ready to leave the theater indifferent and then the ending happened and for some reason my movie blood began to boil.” (Scott) “I really wanted to like this one but aside from the jelly eye sequence it was a pretty frustrating and ultimately forgettable film.” (Mark) You can check out our full review @ http://3guys1movie.com/?p=5750

Next we have

The Queen of Versailles

This film is getting the love from critics and viewers and is a documentary about a billionaire family and their financial challenges during the economic crisis.  Really?  Billionaire financial troubles, whatever.

and then we have

Nitro Circus: The Movie 3D

This film follows Travis and the Nitro Circus Crew around while they do circus stuff.  Nuff said.

and finally we have

Vamps

Believe it or not this film stars Alicia Sylverstone, remember that girl from Clueless who has done nothing of note since, it also stars Sigourney Weaver  who has been busy being just okay but that may all change when Ghostbusters 3 comes out in 2013.  Vamps is about, you guessed it, Vampires.  Personally I have had enough of the Vampire genre, especially PG-13 Vampire movies.

That’s it that’s all

The only movie I watched on this list was Savages. The action scenes were pretty cool, but that’s about it. I was kinda “meh” about the movie. I think it would be a great movie to watch on DVD or instant streaming. Even though I feel “meh” about the movie, I don’t regret spending the money to watch it.

Jen, paying $1.49 to rent this from Red Box would not be a bad idea. I think Mark and I might have dropped $36 to watch this at that high end Cinepolis theater. lol
