5 new releases this week we will start it off with one of my least favorite films of the year
The Amazing Spiderman
I was not a fan of this film and my opinion took some heat from our readers, the other 2 guys thought better of it than me. You can find our full review @ http://3guys1movie.com/?p=5375
Next up we have
Arthur Christmas
Getting great reviews so far and seems like a good holiday release. Nothing more to say about this one.
then we have
Your Sister’s Sister
Seems to me to be a pretty solid dramedy starring Emily Blunt. This was yet another limited release in June of 2012 and finds it’s way to DVD in 5 months. I do not think I will seek this film out but I would watch it if the situation arose.
Next we have
The Pact
Horror movie about a house that has a mysterious presence in it, played out a bit and this was quick to DVD. Usually spells terrible but you never know.
Finally we have
[REC] 3 Genesis

Certainly a strange name of a film but I think that is all is has going for it. Not so fresh from all reports but if you are into horror films this one may have that over the top gore and lack of story that so often is found in these near Halloween releases.
That’s it that’s all

I was lucky enough to watch a little of Spiderman on the plane to Chicago. Unfortunately, I feel asleep halfway through. In my defense, it was the red eye. Although the person that sat in front of me was super excited for this movie and kept on yelling back at the screen. In his defense, he was African American. Well, I guess that shouldn’t matter, but in a way, it kinda matters. He was quite entertaining. Any time he yelled, “whoa” I would open my left eye to see what’s on the screen.
I did not like The Amazing Spiderman and although it is a stereotype African American do tend to yell at the movie screen, I mean Eddie Murphy was the first one to bring this to light for me but since then I have noticed it. Funny thing is my wife will talk to the movie as it is going on and gets frustrated when people do stupid things in movies, she is irish.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who disliked the new Spider-Man movie. I thought it was pretty disappointing and that it was a retread of the original.
I thought this Spiderman was a good take on the superhero. It wasn’t as good as the first two Spidey movies starring Tobey Maguire though.
That whole debate was a bucket of hornets for both sides. I liked the film and I had people telling me how wrong I was. No one can win.
I’ll add my voice to the Spiderman boo crowd and add a on movies starring Mark Duplas as in My Sister’s Sister, Safety Not Guaranteed etc. As a writer and star he picks projects that try to make characters as “aren’t we all so intelligent doing long monologues” and such but when it comes down to it his films drop the ball when fleshing out secondary characters.
I think once the excitement wore off people wandered to my camp with The Amazing Spiderman. It brought nothing new to the table and if you are going to remake a film that was recently done, blow me away. I do think the remainder of this series will be pretty good, at least i am hoping.
