in New on DVD

5 new releases to discuss today and I also wanted to take this time to wish our readers a Happy New Year.

First up we have

Cosmopolis

Starring everyone’s favorite vampire heart throb Robert Pattinson this film is about a golden boy on Wall Street watching his bet against the Yaun go wrong.  As the seconds go by he is losing his kingdom.  I am not a fan of Pattinson and have no interest in seeing this film.  It is getting decent reviews and some folks enjoyed it so maybe you will too.

next up we have

The Trouble with Bliss

I have not heard much about this film but it does star Dexter’s own Michael C. Hall who I have enjoyed in Dexter and Six Feet Under.  Basically seems to be a film about someone who wants to get out from his fathers apartment but has no way of doing so.

and then we have

War of the Dead

As people continue to cash in on the Zombie theme this film reportedly does it poorly and without direction.  Other than that I have nothing on this one.

next up we have

Looper

We here at 3guys did a full review of this film and we all enjoyed it at some level.  There was some discussion after the film was released about holes in the script but it was still an enjoyable film.  You can check out our review @ http://3guys1movie.com/?p=6406

finally we have

Putin’s Kiss

A film about a 19 year old girls life in Russia who is a member of the Nashi, a political youth organization.  Like most documentaries this was limited release but if you have interest in the Russian culture this may be a good film to watch.

That’s it that’s all

Let me know what you think when you see it, I cannot stand Pattinson so I will avoid this one unless you tell me it was good.

I really enjoyed Looper and Cosmopolis and would like to see them again. I’d never heard of Putin’s Kiss but it looks interesting, I’ll have to check that one out.

Cosmopolis seems to be a love it or hate it film.

ICosmopolis was one of the worst of the year in my opinion. You certainly see a different side to Pattison. He was so much better in Water for Elephants. Looper will be fun to see again.

I will probably give Looper a second look also. Sometimes with films like that you pick up a lot more second time around.

I actually just watched Looper a few days ago and found it to be much better than I had anticipated. Pretty original plot and Bruce Willis helps any action flick. Looks like Putin’s Kiss could be an interesting watch. Have you checked it out?

Yeah it was pretty good sci fi action flick and Willis is good in those roles. Yet to check out Putins Kiss but I am sure it will be streaming on netflix.
