in New on DVD

5 new releases this week including the Best Picture Winner.

First up though we have

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

This one has every middle-aged women and teenage girl excited and eager to hit up the local redbox or even purchase the extended version on DVD.  I on the other hand could care less.

Next we have

The Master

The Master

This is a film I have been waiting for and I am eager to check this one out.  Nominated for many Oscars but blanked from what I remember from that drab Oscars Presentation I stayed up for last night.  Joaquin looked a little upset with the lack of love from the Academy last night and I am sure there will be word to come from him.

then we have

Chasing Mavericks

Chasing Mavericks

This film stars the once loved Gerard Butler and co-star Elisabeth Shue.  Based on a true story of surfing phenom Jay Moriarity this film may or may not suck, but if I were to guess I would guess that it is terrible.

then we have

This is Not a Film

This Is Not a Film

A lot of buzz about this film and the use of the Iphone to shoot it.  Getting great reviews and if your into docs this may be right up your alley. I know very little about this one but I may catch it on Netflix when I can.

and last but certainly not least

Argo

Argo

Winner of Best Picture and a hell of a film, Argo stars Ben Affleck, John Goodman,  and Alan Arkin.  There is a lot of buzz regarding the lack of nomination for Ben for best Director but at least he won the big one.  If you have not seen Argo this should be first on your list of must see’s this week.  We did a full write-up of the film that you can read @ http://3guys1movie.com/argo/

That’s it that’s all

I saw Chasing Mavericks. It wasn’t great but it was watchable. There are some great surf sequences and Butler wasn’t too bad.
I have been waiting for the DVD release of The Master. I am looking forward to checking it out.
I know Twilight was up for a Razzie so that can’t be good. I never saw the other ones so I don’t see myself watching this one either.

My wife had me watch the first 2 but I have been able to avoid the last 2 Twilight films.

I was gonna say the same thing about Chasing Mavericks. It’s actually better than expected and the surf sequences and scenery are quite breathtaking.

Glad The Master is here, missed that in the cinema. Oh and I’ll be renting ARGO again. I rooted for that for Best Picture so I’m glad it won!

I have to say Breaking Dawn P.2 isn’t that bad! The most enjoyable since the first one.

I did not really enjoy the first 2 Twilights, but I am certain i will have to watch the other two including this one.

I hate to admit but but I am a Trihard twilight fan. Yes Kristen Stewart can’t act and Pattison looks as constipated as he does in Cosmopolis but at least he has redeemed himself in Water for Elephants. The Twilight stories have action, love and the end was satisfying. Not art but decent diversion.

I will not hold it against you, there are certain films that I like that you would find terrible. Sometimes our tastes and reasons are beyond what another could understand.

I have wanted to check out The Master as I saw it received two nominations for best on screen hand job.

I might also rent Argo so the misses can check it out.

Looks like The Master is a must see. I’m a fan of Paul Thomas Anderson’s movies and it looks like he has hit another home run.
