Well joy to the world, the trailer for A Christmas Story 2 has hit the interwebs.  I have not been this excited since that year I asked Santa for the millenium Falcon for Christmas.  My parents told me Santa was all out of millenium falcons on Christmas morning.

There are a few films that I watch every holiday season.  It just does not seem like Christmas, till I watch Christmas Vacation, It’s A Wonderful Life, the animated classics, and of course A Christmas Story.  There is nothing like sitting in front of a warm fire with the tree twinkling away, sipping on a glass of nog and watching some holiday classics with the family.

I don’t know about you, but I just can’t wait to purchase my very own copy of A Christmas Story 2 when it is released direct to video on October 30th.  Everyone knows all the best films go straight to video.  Besides director Brian Levant already brought us Jingle all the Way and who does not watch that at least twice every holiday season.  But wait it gets even better Daniel Stern is starring in the film as the old man.  Everyone remembers him from that great holiday film Home Alone.  I wonder whose career is going better at this point Macaulay Culkin or Daniel Stern.

October 30th can not get here fast enough.  I have not been this excited since Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie’s Island Adventure.  I am so pumped up I hope I don’t end up shooting my eye out with my Red Ryder before I get to watch it.

O I almost forgot here is the trailer that you have all been waiting for:

I know what your thinking… instant holiday classic.  If your opinion about this film somehow differs from ours please let us know.

Nice, I acutally have a small one in the kitchen. My boy asked me what it was yesterday and I told him it was a major award.

I think it should have never been made.

Mike at least Christmas Vacation 2 features cousin Eddy …. I can’t wait to see how much they try to charge people for this before it ends up in the 4.96 bin at the local Walmart.

UGH! This is all wrong. I’m a huge fan on the first movie. And yes…I watch it on TBS for almost 24 hours! It’s not christmas until I watch A Christmas Story! LOL

I might watch number 2, just for fun.

I love how they go out of their way in the trailer to let you know it’s an official sequel. Like that means it somehow isn’t going to suck.

It’s really impressive the way they work in all the same jokes from the original!

You know… there are a few Ralphie movies out there already. It Runs in the Family (retitled as My Summer Story for DVD)… the TV movie Ollie Hopnoodle’s Haven of Bliss, a few other TV specials from different showcase series… I haven’t checked out any but A Christmas Story, and I haven’t really cared to do so. I might check any of them out if the opportunity presents itself, but I’m not going to go seeking them out. And I don’t think I’ll be seeking out “The Official Sequel” either.
